Just north of Chicago on 35-acre (14-hectare) grounds, the Volo Auto Museum makes an ideal stop on a road trip, motorcycle tour, or family vacation. With an array of historic, educational, and entertaining exhibits featuring around 300 cars, the museum has something for everyone. How to Get There

Located 50 miles (80 kilometers) north of Chicago, the museum is easily reached by car or train. If you’re driving, take I-90 West to US 12 West, then turn left on IL-120 West—the museum is on your right. Or, take a Metra train from the city and get off at Fox Lake station, then hop in a taxi to Volo.

Kid-Friendly Attractions at Volo

Don’t leave the kids behind. At Volo, they’ll enjoy colorful antique rides, vintage scooters, Disney galleries, and Hollywood favorites such as the Cat in the Hat’s car, the Flintmobile, and Barbie’s pink convertible.
