The basics

As one of Cambridge’s architectural icons, Kings College Chapel is a staple of sightseeing tours. Admire the landmark from the water during a punting tour on the Cam River; explore the chapel at your own pace during a hop-on hop-off sightseeing tour; get a more intimate glimpse into Cambridge’s historic center on a walking tour; or focus your attention primarily on the world-famous education institution on a tour of Cambridge University.

This is a very good way to learn the histories and unique aspects of Cambridge U. and its many individual colleges. Especially if you are only in Cambridge for a day, it's a way to make sure you see some of the city's highlights in an efficient, informed way. Our guide had done undergrad and grad work at two different colleges so she able to answer questions about student life, etc. as well as typical tour questions.

The tour was very interesting, led by Francesco, who was friendly and very knowledgeable about the sites that we saw. A wonderful way to see Cambridge for the first time and find out a bit about life as a student as well as the history of how the City and University developed. Well paced and a reasonable group size so we were never having to strain to get close enough to hear.

Sonja was an excellent guide: personable, knowledgeable and fun. Her love of Cambridge and the university was infectious. I would highly recommend this tour, but the guide makes all the difference. We had a much different experience on the Oxford tour.
