Small Group Normandy Trip
We traveled to Normandy from Paris with BlueFox Tours. Our guide, Tahj, picked us up in a comfortable minivan and took our family of four, including 10 y/o and 13 y/o sons, on a wonderful tour of multiple beaches, American Cemetery for taps, Overlord Museum. He gave such rich history to go along with what we were seeing. We enjoyed crepes for lunch and learned about cider making before returning to Paris.

D-Day Omaha Beach Area Morning or Afternoon Group Tour from Bayeux
My wife and I traveled from Paris for a half day tour on Friday, March 6, 2020. The time, energy and cost paid for itself after experiencing the fabulous tour of Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery. Our guide was informative and also allowed us time to explore these historic location on our own. Lastly, the town of Bayeux is a small hidden gem.

OMAHA U.S Landing Beach - Day trip from Paris to Normandy in a small group
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour and would highly recommend it. Regis did an outstanding job from pick-up to return to Paris and all in between. He was pleasant to be around (important as we're all together approximately 12 hours!) and very informative as he took us to many parts of Normandy. Walking on Omaha Beach, visiting the American Cemetery and more, with Regis' informative commentary, was a memorable experience.

D-Day Omaha Beach Area Morning or Afternoon Group Tour from Bayeux
Loved our day in Bayeux and Normandy. Our tour guide was great and treated us like “friends.” He was courteous, thoughtful, funny and extremely knowledgeable of all the events surrounding the D-Day invasion and local area. Shuttle van was clean, and comfortable with lots of leg room. Tour started and ended “on-time” and our guide even dropped us at the train station at the end of the day. Highly recommend this tour and this tour guide!!’ Five stars!

Normandy D-Day Small-Group Day Trip with Omaha Beach, Cemetery & Cider Tasting
This was the highlight of our France trip. The tour was fantastic. Our tour guide Pablo made it a very enjoyable experience. The tour is in an 8 person van which was nice, clean, and comfortable. A caution that this could be uncomfortable for a larger person so something to keep in mind. One recommendation to Blu Fox Tours would be to update the Van's with USB ports so phones can be recharged...it is a long day with lots of pics. That aside, this tour was worth every penny.

Utah & Omaha Beaches D-Day Group Tour from Bayeux
Pick up at Bayeux Shuttle was effortless, the vans are new, clean and comfortable. Drop off repeats pick up. Jon is one of the most knowledgeable tour guides I've had the pleasure to experience. As far as I'm concerned, he has earned his PhD in D Day and can answer any question you can conjure. He also is expert at driving on very narrow roads in the bocage.

Excellent guide painted a vivid picture of DDay

Omaha Beach Half-Day Trip from Bayeux
The tour guide was fantastic. He had an encyclopaedic knowledge of the Normandy Beaches and DDay but better than that he really painted a picture of the unfolding events and the small details that made it such a human story set amid the huge political and military drama. The area is huge and the remains are scattered so I would highly recommend this tour guide. For my son and I it was an forgettable experience. It really does justice to the incredible bravery of those days. Thank you.

We came away with a deeper understanding of the events of the brave solders who landed on Omaha Beach. The cemetery visit was sobering. All the dead buried there were heroes! The guide was extremely knowledgeable.

Normandy Battlefields Day Trip: Omaha, Sword and the British Airborne Sector
Very friendly and knowledgable guide. Small party of 6 in the morning and just 2 in the afternoon that made for a personal and comfortable tour. Well worth it.

How to Get There

Omaha Beach is located along the coast of Normandy in northern France, 15 miles (24 kilometers) northwest of Bayeux. Although buses run to the beach from Bayeux, the easiest way to visit is by private transportation or as part of a guided tour. The American Cemetery lies above the beach, from where a long walkway heads down to the beach itself.

When to Get There

Tours run to Omaha Beach year-round, but it can get busy during peak summer season. If you’re visiting in July and August, try to arrive early morning or early evening to avoid the large groups of day-trippers. The most moving time to visit is during the annual D-Day Festival, which commemorates the anniversary of the Allied Landings with a program of memorials, parades, and beachside picnics.

The D-Day Landings

Omaha Beach was the location of one of the most significant battles World War II. On June 6th 1944, American troops were given the task of securing Omaha beach as part of a strategy to land Allied troops along five points on the coast of Normandy—an operation code-named D-Day. Due to unforeseen tidal forces and stronger than expected German defenses, the American soldiers suffered massive losses—2,400 casualties in a day of bloody fighting. However, the landing was eventually successful with 34,000 troops securing the area for the Allies, and thus beginning the end of the war.
