To reach the Rubens House by public transit, take tram line 4 to Groenplaats, line 7 to Meirbrug, or line 11, 12, or 24 to Sint-Katelijnevest. By premetro (subway), take line 3, 5, 9, or 15 to Meir, from which the house is less than a 5-minute walk.
When to Get There
The Rubens House is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10am to 5pm. On the last Wednesday of every month, the house offers free admission; expect long lines on these days. The museum attracts large crowds, so arrive early if you want crowd-free photographs.
Artworks Inside Rubens House
As well as offering insight into the life of one of the world’s most famous painters, Rubens House also exhibits masterpieces by Rubens and Anthony van Dyk, a former student of Rubens. Visitors can admire a Rubens self-portrait and paintings such as Adam and Eve and The Annunciation.
